CLEVELAND -- Since the last time they played a game, the Twins traded nine players off of their Major League roster. On Friday, they added eight, with the ninth expected to be activated Saturday afternoon.
Minnesota recalled Travis Adams, Ryan Fitzgerald, Edouard Julien, Austin Martin, Pierson Ohl and Alan Roden from Triple-A St. Paul, and selected the contracts of Erasmo Ramírez and José Ureña from St. Paul. Roden was acquired in the trade that sent Louis Varland to Toronto, while the other seven were all already in the Twins organization before Thursday’s flood of trades.
The remaining move will come prior to Saturday’s game against the Guardians. That’s when Bailey Ober is expected to be activated from the injured list to start for the Twins. He hasn’t pitched in more than a month due to a left hip injury.
Mick Abel, Taj Bradley and James Outman, all of whom have Major League experience and were acquired in trades over the past two days, will begin their Twins tenures with St. Paul.

Julien, Martin, and Roden are all likely to play significant roles. All three started on Friday, with Julien at second base, Martin in center field, and Roden in left.
Brooks Lee is expected to take over as the primary shortstop after Carlos Correa was dealt, while Julien will likely see the most time at second base — at least until Luke Keaschall is reinstated from a Minor League injury rehab stint. Kody Clemens seems likely to get the most playing time at first base after Ty France was traded to Toronto.

The fifth starter spot remains a question mark at this point, while the bullpen will also be a work in progress. Manager Rocco Baldelli did say Friday that he expects Cole Sands and Justin Topa to move from their previous roles in the middle innings to more late-game, high-leverage spots.
