As the Minor League regular season winds down, several top prospects are closing strong. Kevin McGonigle (Tigers) delivered another homer in Erie, while Walker Jenkins (Twins) and Alex Freeland (Dodgers) continued to show their power strokes at Triple-A. On the hill, Will Watson (Mets) and Chen-Wei Lin (Cardinals) both piled up strikeouts in scoreless starts.

Kevin McGonigle, SS, Erie (DET No. 1/MLB No. 2)
McGonigle homered for the second straight game -- and delivered his second-straight multihit performance with a two-run single. The 21-year-old turned on an inside breaking ball from southpaw Blake Townsend in the first inning to crank his 19th homer of the season and fourth off a fellow lefty. Incredibly, he's been even better against lefties (.321/.444/.628) than he's been against righties (.300/.396/.569), albeit in small sample sizes. McGonigle finishes the regular season with multiple hits in 28 of his 88 games. Gameday

Walker Jenkins, OF, St. Paul (MIN No. 1/MLB No. 14)
Jenkins continued his September surge at Triple-A by drilling his second homer with St. Paul (10th of the season), a 107.8 mph shot on a 1-0 fastball in the fourth inning. The 20-year-old has posted a .928 OPS over 12 games this month while adjusting to his third level of the season. Despite battling injuries in his third pro campaign, the 6-foot-3 left-handed hitter has finished strong, flashing the impact bat that makes him the Twins’ top prospect. Gameday

Colt Emerson, SS, Arkansas (SEA No. 1/MLB No. 11)
Out of the leadoff spot, Emerson raced to three of the Travelers' four runs. The left-handed-hitting infielder went 2-for-3 with one double and one walk in a Game 1 victory of the Texas League Finals. Although only stealing seven bases at Double-A during the regular season, the 20-year-old swiped two bags in contribution to Arkansas' season-best 10 total stolen bases against the Tulsa Drillers. Gameday

Alex Freeland, SS, Oklahoma City (LAD No. 3/MLB No. 42)
The switch-hitting Freeland connected on his 14th homer of the season, driving a hanging slider over the wall from the right side in Triple-A Oklahoma City’s contest. The Dodgers' 2022 third-rounder finished with two hits and has been steady in eight games since returning from a brief stint in the Majors, slashing .345/.457/.655. He’s done his most damage left-handed with an .857 OPS and 10 long balls this season, but Sunday’s swing marked his fourth homer from the right side and bumped his overall OPS to .820. Gameday

Ryan Waldschmidt, OF, Amarillo (AZ No. 1/MLB No. 66)
Waldschmidt tied career highs with two homers and five RBIs as part of a three-hit game to close out the season. The former Kentucky slugger jumped on an inside fastball in the first inning to clobber a solo homer before patiently waiting on an offspeed pitch to single up the middle in the seventh. He capped it off with his first professional grand slam in the eighth. Waldschmidt ends his breakout 2025 season with a .289/.419/.473 overall line, including .362/.423/.532 at Double-A. Gameday

Jhostynxon Garcia, OF, Worcester (BOS No. 3/MLB No. 74)
"The Password" has unlocked his power once again after a brief cold spell upon his return to Triple-A. After picking up just one hit in his first eight games back with the WooSox, he's reached safely in each of his past four contests and drove a two-run homer the other way in the fourth inning on Sunday. Garcia is up to 21 homers on the season, two off his career high from 2024. Gameday

Jurrangelo Cijntje, SWP, Arkansas (SEA No. 8/MLB No. 90)
The switch-pitching sensation ended his season with Double-A Arkansas on a high note, tossing four scoreless innings with three strikeouts and just five baserunners allowed. Cijntje only pitched right-handed in this start but was still able to get tough left-handers out, including MLB's No. 12 prospect Josue De Paula, whom Cijntje got to ground out and strike out. The 2024 first-rounder has ended his season on a high note by giving up just one run across 16 innings in his last three starts. He's up to 120 strikeouts in 108 1/3 innings, with 110 of the K's coming from the right side. Gameday

Brice Matthews, 2B, Sugar Land (HOU No. 1/MLB No. 93)
More than 100 games into a season, it's hard to change your OPS by much in one contest, but Matthews raised his from .802 to .820 after his first multihomer game of 2025. The 2023 first-rounder totaled three hits and drove in half of Triple-A Sugar Land's 10 runs, with his five RBIs tying a career high. Matthews stung the ball hard all day, with his homers coming at 98.7 and 110.7 mph and a pair of fly outs screaming off the bat at 100.3 and 103.2 mph. Matthews ranks in the 83rd percentile among Triple-A hitters in 90th percentile EV (106) and Max EV (112.8). Gameday

Will Watson, RHP, Binghamton (NYM No. 11)
The Mets’ seventh-round pick from a year ago has quietly put together an impressive first full season, and Sunday was no exception. Watson blanked Portland over 5 2/3 innings, yielding just two hits while fanning nine. After dominating High-A with a 1.70 ERA across 14 outings, the 22-year-old righty has transitioned well to Double-A, as over his last 9 2/3 frames, he has not allowed an earned run. Often overshadowed by Nolan McLean, Jonah Tong and Brandon Sproat, Watson continues to show why he’s one of New York’s most intriguing arms. Gameday

Chen-Wei Lin, RHP, Springfield (STL No. 16)
Pitchers of the 6-foot-7 stature typically rack up big strikeout numbers and carry big-time velocity -- Lin fits that bill. On Sunday, the lanky right-hander spun four hitless innings with nine strikeouts against San Antonio. Signed out of Taiwan in 2023, the 23-year-old has had some uneven stretches, but he’s consistently missed bats. Opponents are hitting just .199 against him, and he’s piled up 70 punchouts in 50 1/3 innings while surrendering only three homers. Gameday
