The All-Star Futures Game is in the rearview and the final months of the 2025 Minors campaign are upon us, which means top prospects were back in business at full throttle Saturday. Spencer Jones (Yankees) continued his Triple-A tear with four more hits and another homer, while switch-pitching sensation Jurrangelo Cijntje (Mariners) dazzled by notching strikeouts from both sides of the rubber. Other strong pitching performances were aplenty on a high-octane night that also included the debut of the John Oliver-inspired Erie Moon Mammoths!
Sebastian Walcott, SS/3B, Frisco (TEX No. 1/MLB No. 4)
Fresh off his second straight All-Star Futures Game appearance, Walcott wasted no time flashing his tools again. The 6-foot-4 shortstop launched a two-run homer in the fourth inning -- his 10th of the season -- to break a scoreless tie and capped a three-hit performance with a pair of stolen bases, giving him 22 on the year. The 19-year-old Bahamas native continues to display his 65-grade power and all-around impact at the plate and on the bases. Gameday

C.J. Kayfus, 1B/OF, Columbus (CLE No. 5/MLB No. 72)
Kayfus continues to make noise at the Triple-A level. The 2023 third-round pick recorded his 18th multihit performance since joining Columbus, finishing with three knocks -- capped by a ninth-inning homer -- to lift his season OPS to .978. All three hits came off righties, against whom MLB’s No. 5 first-base prospect has slashed .321/.410/.580 this season -- his third pro campaign. Gameday

Jurrangelo Cijntje, SWP, Everett (SEA No. 7/MLB No. 76)
A week ago today, the Minors' preeminent switch-pitcher took the national stage, twirling a scoreless inning in the All-Star Futures Game. He didn’t disappoint in his first start back, allowing just one run while striking out seven from both sides of the rubber over 5 2/3 innings for Everett. The seven strikeouts matched a career high, while the 5 2/3 innings marked his longest appearance since May. While he’s had uneven results as a reliever, Cijntje’s opponents are batting .196 in his starts. Gameday

Mick Abel, RHP, Lehigh Valley (PHI No. 5/MLB No. 84)
After a six-game stint in the Majors, Abel returned to Triple-A earlier this month and has shut down International League batters ever since. On Saturday, he threw six scoreless innings, allowing just two hits while striking out five. He now has consecutive scoreless starts for Lehigh Valley following his return. Overall, he is 7-2 with a 1.83 ERA over 12 appearances at Triple-A this season. Gameday

Spencer Jones, OF, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (NYY No. 2)
Jones had a strong start to the season with Double-A Somerset, earning a promotion to Triple-A. But since that promotion, the 6-foot-7 outfielder has been absolutely scorching. He continued his torrid streak on Saturday night, going 4-for-5 with a home run and a double. In his 15 games with the Rail Riders, Jones has eight home runs and an OPS of 1.300. His 24 home runs across the two levels eclipses his 2024 total (17). Gameday

Brandon Sproat, RHP, Syracuse (NYM No. 5)
Sproat continued his dominant stretch with five innings of one-hit ball while striking out a season-high nine for Triple-A Syracuse. The 2023 second-rounder has now logged 24 consecutive innings without an earned run, allowing just nine hits and fanning 28 in that span. With Nolan McLean and Jonah Tong also surging, the Mets’ trio of top-five right-handed pitching prospects is quickly climbing the organizational ladder. Gameday
