Injury: Right UCL repair surgery
IL date: March 23 (60-day IL)
Expected return: Late August
Status: Tossed two perfect innings in a July 30 rehab start for Double-A Chesapeake. First game action since April 2024, after undergoing surgery in June 2024. (updated July 30)
RHP Kyle Bradish
Injury: Tommy John surgery
IL date: March 21 (60-day IL)
Expected return: Mid-to-late August
Status: Made two-inning rehab start for High-A Aberdeen on July 24, his first game action since June 2024. Tossed 3 2/3 scoreless innings for Double-A Chesapeake on July 29. (updated July 29)
1B Ryan Mountcastle
Injury: Right hamstring strain
IL date: May 31 (transferred to 60-day IL on June 23)
Expected return: Likely Aug. 4-6 series in Philadelphia
Status: Diagnosed with Grade 2 strain. Went 7-for-15 with three doubles, two home runs and six RBIs over first four rehab games for Triple-A Norfolk from July 24-29. (updated July 29)
LHP Cade Povich
Injury: Left hip inflammation
IL date: June 16 (15-day IL)
Expected return: Early August
Status: Made fourth rehab start (and third for Triple-A Norfolk) on July 29, allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits with no walks and three strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings. (updated July 29)
RHP Grayson Rodriguez
Injury: Right elbow inflammation/right lat strain
IL date: March 27, retroactive to March 24 (transferred to 60-day IL on April 28)

Status: Elbow discomfort returned during week of July 14 while rehabbing lat strain. Rehab was paused, and he underwent an MRI. Getting multiple opinions. (updated July 29) More >>

Injury: Left hamstring strain

Status: Strained left hamstring on his final pitch of July 28 outing vs. Blue Jays. Scheduled to undergo MRI. (updated July 29)

Injury: Right shoulder discomfort
IL date: July 24, retroactive to July 21 (15-day IL)
Expected return: TBD
Status: Underwent July 25 MRI exam, which showed a lot of swelling. Expected to be "out for a while" and miss "more weeks than days," per interim manager Tony Mansolino. (updated July 28)

Injury: Right wrist sprain

Status: Exited concussion protocol on July 23, but was then transferred to 10-day injured list with sprained right wrist. Swinging a bat as of July 28. (updated July 28)

Injury: Right subscapularis strain

Expected return: Mid-August or later
Status: Throwing routine bullpen sessions. Scheduled to progress to live batting practice during the week of July 28. (updated July 28)
RHP Scott Blewett
Injury: Right elbow discomfort

Status: Allowed four runs in one inning during July 12 loss to Marlins, then went on IL the next day. He’ll start throwing after getting a second opinion. (updated July 23)
