VICE PRESIDENT, PLAYER PERSONNEL
Kevin Ibach was promoted to vice president, assistant general manager in November 2023 and begins his 13th season with the Rays. In this role, Ibach primarily oversees the entirety of the Rays player development and player personnel efforts while also broadly supporting the baseball operations leadership group on a day-to-day basis. Prior to his promotion to AGM, Ibach served as vice president, player personnel. In that role, he oversaw both the internal and external evaluation of professional players and helped lead the effort on all trade acquisitions and free agent signings. Ibach has spent the majority of his time as an executive leading the Rays pro personnel and pro scouting departments, managing the flow of information between scouts and baseball operations leadership. Ibach joined the Rays as a pro scout in October 2012 and was later promoted to director of pro scouting in November 2015 and senior director of pro personnel and pro scouting in January 2020. He is entering his 25th season in professional baseball. Before joining the Rays, he spent five years with the Marlins as a Midwest area scout and seven years as a baseball operations coordinator with the Orioles. Ibach graduated from La Salle University, where he majored in communication and played shortstop. He then signed a contract with the Schaumburg Flyers of the independent Northern League. Kevin and his wife, Laurie, reside in Geneva, Ill., with their three daughters: Adalyn, Kinley and Harper.
