There was a little bit of everything as the calendar flipped to August. Double-A firsts by Top 100 prospects Braden Montgomery and Josue Briceño highlighted the offensive exploits, while Trey Yesavage, Robby Snelling and Quinn Mathews all stood out on the mound.
Braden Montgomery, OF, Birmingham (CWS No. 2/MLB No. 26)
The fourth game was the charm for Montgomery, who launched his first Double-A homer in the second inning for Birmingham. The 22-year-old, who added a single later in the game, is competing at his third Minor League level during his pro debut. Despite slowing down since a red-hot start, Montgomery has a combined .808 OPS, 36 extra-base hits and 58 RBIs in 91 games. Gameday
Jarlin Susana, RHP, Wilmington (WSH No. 2/MLB No. 48)
Susana made his third rehab start for High-A Wilmington as he works his way back from a UCL sprain in his right elbow that he sustained in May. The 21-year-old looked healthy, allowing just one hit and striking out six over four scoreless innings. Susana retired 11 of 12 batters and finished with a flourish, K'ing the side in his final frame and ending his outing at 49 pitches (38 strikes). Gameday
Trey Yesavage, RHP, New Hampshire (TOR No. 2/MLB No. 50)
Yesavage rebounded from a pair of mediocre outings with his second consecutive strong start. The first-year pro struck out nine, his highest total since he was promoted to Double-A New Hampshire, and surrendered one run over four innings. Yesavage has fanned 14 with no walks and one run allowed over his past two starts, spanning eight frames. The 22-year-old's 125 punchouts over 75 2/3 innings rank third in the Minors. Gameday

Josue Briceño, C/1B, Erie (DET No. 4/MLB No. 51)
Briceño broke through with his most productive game since his promotion to Double-A, homering twice and reaching base three times in five plate appearances. The long balls were the first for the 20-year-old in an Erie uniform and his first since July 2 for High-A West Michigan. It's been a breakout campaign for Briceño, who is slashing .279/.396/.550 with 17 homers and 66 RBIs in 70 games. Gameday
Quinn Mathews, LHP, Memphis (STL No. 2/MLB No. 53)
Mathews continued his solid run of pitching by completing his longest outing of the season. The Stanford product racked up season highs in innings (6 2/3) and strikeouts (nine) and allowed two earned runs or fewer for the ninth time in 11 starts since he returned from IL. Mathews has a 3.63 ERA and 56 strikeouts in 44 2/3 innings since May 31. Gameday
Robby Snelling, LHP, Jacksonville (MIA No. 2/MLB No. 72)
Snelling followed up a season-high 11-strikeout performance with another gem. The 21-year-old has pitched brilliantly since his promotion to Triple-A and added to it by twirling six innings of one-run ball, striking out seven. Snelling yielded just a solo homer in the third and a double in the sixth during his 80-pitch performance. The Nevada native lowered his ERA to 2.08 in four starts with Jacksonville. Gameday
Joe Mack, C, Jacksonville (MIA No. 3/MLB No. 82)
In addition to guiding Snelling from the behind the plate, Mack came through with the bat as well. The 22-year-old enjoyed a perfect night at the plate, reaching safely in all five plate appearances and matching a career high with four hits while slugging his 13th long ball of the season, 10th at Triple-A. Mack snapped out of a 5-for-34 skid and fell a triple shy of the cycle while lifting his OPS back over .800 (.804). Gameday
Jhostynxon Garcia, OF, Worcester (BOS No. 2/MLB No. 88)
Garcia capped off a productive doubleheader with his first grand slam as a pro to complete a three-extra-base hit day. The native of Venezuela doubled twice in the opener for Triple-A Worcester before slugging his 16th long ball in the nightcap. "The Password" has a .906 OPS and 18 RBIs since July 1 and is slashing .283/.361/.497 with 34 extra-base hits and 58 RBIs in 85 games across two Minor League levels this season. Gameday
Brody Hopkins, RHP, Montgomery (TB No. 3)
Hopkins strong overall campaign carried into his first start of August with what amounted to his finest performance of 2025. The 23-year-old twirled seven scoreless innings and equaled a career high with 10 strikeouts while allowing just three hits during his 87-pitch outing. Hopkins retired 16 of 17 batters at one point and lowered his ERA to 3.03 in 20 starts for Double-A Montgomery. Gameday
Kendall George, OF, Great Lakes (LAD No. 12)
The speedy leadoff hitter was the ignitor atop High-A Great Lakes' lineup, reaching base five times and stealing five bases. George singled twice, walked three times, scored two runs and ran amok on the basepaths, pushing his Midwest League-leading stolen base total to 63, which is the second-best mark in the Minors.
