Acquired by Miami from San Diego with RHP Woo-Suk Go, OF Dillon Head and INF Nathan Martorella in exchange for INF Luis Arraez and cash considerations...Was ranked San Diego's ninth-best prospect by MLB Pipeline at the time of the trade...Combined to slash .200/.345/.316 in a career-high 137 games across Double-A San Antonio, Double-A Pensacola and Triple-A Jacksonville with 18 doubles, four triples, 10 home runs, 47 RBI and 51 stolen bases...His 92 walks ranked fifth among all Minor Leaguers...Among Marlins farmhands, Marsee ranked second in walks (73), second in steals (39) and third in runs (75)…In 105 total games at the Double-A level, led all hitters in walks (80), ranked fourth in stolen bases (44) and seventh in runs (76)…Hit .177 (15-for-85) in 24 games with San Antonio to begin the season, with 19 walks against 24 strikeouts...Stole 12 bases in 13 attempts...Assigned to Double-A Pensacola after the trade. Spent the majority of his second professional season with Single-A Fort Wayne before being promoted to Double-A San Antonio in August…hit a combined .274 with a .413 on-base percentage, 16 doubles, three triples, 16 homers, 46 RBI, 46 stolen bases, 98 walks (against 97 strikeouts) and 103 runs scored in 129 games...Led the entire Padres farm system in walks, runs, and stolen bases, and became the first player in all of Minor League baseball since at least 2005 to have at least 15 home runs, 40 steals and 90 walks in a single campaign...He was one of just eight players in all of Minor League baseball in ‘23 with 15+ homers and 45+ stolen bases…only four Major Leaguers accomplished the feat (Ronald Acuna Jr., Bobby Witt Jr., Cobrin Carroll and CJ Abrams)...Between FW and SA, posted more walks (98) than strikeouts (97) for the 2nd straight season…he was one of just three players in the Midwest League in ’23 to walk more than they struck out, and his swing-and-miss rate (5%) was third-lowest on the circuit...Following his promotion from FW to SA, had a higher AVG (.286) and OPS (.858) in his 16 Double-A games than he did in his 113 High-A games (.273 AVG, .838 OPS)...Earned Midwest League Mid-Season All-Star honors, as well as the Midwest League Player of the Week award from Aug. 8-13, leading the league in AVG, OBP, SLG, OPS, hits, runs, total bases and stolen bases over that stretch…over six games in the leadoff spot that week, Marsee went 13-for-27 with one 2B, one 3B and two HR, as he slashed .565/.630/.957 SLG (1.587 OPS)…he scored nine runs, drove in six and stole five bases...he also walked three times and was hit by a pitch...Posted a 12-game hitting streak from Aug. 4-17, slashing .511/.607/.844 over the streak with eight XBH (4 2B, 1 3B, 3 HR), eight RBI, 14 runs scored and five stolen bases...Marsee’s 143 wRC+ was the highest among all qualified players in the Midwest League in ‘23, and the sixth-best in franchise history (data available back to 2006), the highest since Fernando Tatis Jr. in 2017...Promoted to SA on Aug. 22…hit safely in 26 of his final 34 games in Aug-September between FW and SA, batting .347 (42-for-121) with 12 XBH (4 2B, 1 3B, 7 HR), 15 RBI, 26 BB, 30 runs scored and 12 stolen bases...Hit safely in 12 of his 16 games for SA at a .286 clip (16-for54), including going 5-for-5 in stolen base attempts...267 of his 400 at-bats came batting first in the TinCaps lineup (.277/.423/.419)….also had 100 at-bats out of the No. 2 hole (.270/.403/.430)...With RISP at FW, he hit .322 (29-for-90)...Following the season, Marsee earned the Joe Black MVP award of the Arizona Fall League, becoming the first Padres' prospect to ever win the award...he paced the AFL in SLG (.707), OPS (1.215), 2B (12), hits (36) and runs scored (25)… also finished second in OBP (.509), third in AVG (.391) and steals (16), T-4th in RBI (20) and fifth in HR (five)…he also played all three outfield positions during the AFL season...He started in left field for the National League in the AFL All-Star Game and went 1-for-2 with a 2B... In the AFL play-in playoff game, he was 0-for-3, but drew two walks, stole a base and scored two runs…he was then 1-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in Peoria’s 6–5 loss to Surprise in the AFL championship game.

Played in 13 games for the Rookie-Level Arizona Complex League Padres to begin his professional career, hitting safely in six of his 13 games (.212 AVG) while drawing 14 walks against 10 strikeouts...Assigned to Single-A Lake Elsinore on Aug. 22 and hit safely in 11 of 18 games at a .254 clip (17-for-67)...Posted more walks (16) than strikeouts (15) for the Storm while converting 12 of his 13 stolen base attempts (92.3%)...While with Lake Elsinore, the left-handed hitter posted a higher clip vs. LHP (.263) than vs. RHP (.250).
