1964: Greatest rookie season ever?

Philly Phanatic

Over 2 stints and 9 years with the Phillies, Allen hit .290/.371/.530 (.902 OPS) and slugged 204 HRs and 655 RBIs across 1,070 games. He ranks 3rd in Phillies history with a .530 SLG and 10th in HRs

1971: South Side

The White Sox acquired Allen after stints with the Cardinals and Dodgers, and he rejuvenated his career in Chicago

1972: MVP

Allen was named AL MVP after posting an 8.6 bWAR, clubbing a league-high 37 homers, 113 RBIs and posting MLB-bests in OBP (.420), OPS (.603) and SLG (1.023)

Allen finished his 15-year career with a .292/.378/.534 (.912 OPS) line across 1,749 games with 351 homers

2020: Homecoming

The Phillies retired No. 15 only a few months before Allen sadly passed away at the age of 78
