A handful of baseball's top prospects flexed their muscles on Tuesday, kicking off another week of Minor League action in a loud way. Jac Caglianone, Braden Montgomery and Colby Thomas all left the yard twice, but pitchers did their parts too. Unhittable Chase Petty put together one of the best outings of his pro career and 2024 Draft pick Jackson Kent not only reached double digits in K's, but accomplished something starting pitchers rarely do anymore:

Jac Caglianone, 1B, Northwest Arkansas (KC No. 1/MLB No. 18)
A brief six-game slump has become a distant memory for Caglianone, who continues to tear the cover off the ball for Double-A Northwest Arkansas. Last year's sixth overall pick went deep for the third consecutive game while collecting his first multihomer game as a pro and equaling career highs with three hits and four RBIs. Since enduring a 1-for-24 stretch last month, Caglianone has gone 25-for-55 (.455) and is slashing .330/.406/.606 with 14 extra-base hits, eight homers and 31 RBIs in 28 games. Full story | Gameday
Braden Montgomery, OF, Winston-Salem (CWS No. 5/MLB No. 49)
Montgomery's hot April hasn't shown any signs of slowing down through his first five games this month. The 22-year-old went deep twice for the first time as a pro and matched a career high with four RBIs during his seventh contest with High-A Winston-Salem. Montgomery was slashing .304/.393/.493 in his first 18 professional games for Single-A Kannapolis before being promoted on April 29. The Texas A&M product is 9-for-25 (.360) with a 1.227 OPS and six extra-base hits for the Dash. Full story | Gameday
Chase Petty, RHP, Louisville (CIN No. 6/MLB No. 97)
Petty endured a rough Major League debut last week with the Reds, but he rebounded in a big way in his return to Triple-A Louisville. The 22-year-old twirled six hitless innings and equaled a season high with eight strikeouts while walking three en route to his first win of the season. Petty, who lowered his Triple-A ERA to 2.79, has surrendered one hit while fanning 15 over his past two starts spanning 12 innings for the Bats. Gameday
Colby Thomas, OF, Las Vegas (ATH No. 2)
Thomas continues to make his case for a potential Major League callup, homering twice and doubling during his seventh multihit performance in 11 games. The 2022 third-rounder clubbed a pair of solo jacks and scored three times for Triple-A Las Vegas, giving him four long balls and 12 RBIs in the past seven games. Thomas is slashing .305/.370/.557 with 18 extra-base hits, seven homers and 26 RBIs. Perhaps not coincidentally, the Aviators are riding a 10-game win streak. Gameday
Jackson Kent, LHP, Wilmington (WSH No. 20)
Making just his sixth professional start, Kent rebounded from the worst outing of his very brief career with his best. The Nats' fourth-round pick in last year's Draft came within an out of completing eight innings and fanned a career-high 11 on 95 pitches (64 strikes). Kent, who struck out the side in the first and seventh innings, was charged with two runs -- one after he left the game -- and has a 3.62 ERA and a 41-to-7 K/BB ratio in 32 1/3 innings for High-A Wilmington.
