The dog days of August are upon us, and they bring familiar faces in new places across the Minor Leagues. To that end, prospects acquired at the Trade Deadline and players adjusting to recent promotions within their own systems made impressions on their new clubs. Some big names enjoyed big days at the plate, and a pair of left-handers proved nasty on the mound. And a pair of Giants prospects showed off their consistency -- and pop -- as well.
Dakota Jordan, OF, San Jose (SF No. 6)
In a career performance, Jordan tallied his first five-hit game for Single-A San Jose. The right-handed-hitting outfielder slugged a two-run homer and added four singles while accounting for three runs and three RBIs in his six at-bats. The Mississippi State product improved his average to .315 and his OPS to .877 behind his 60-grade power and run tools. Gameday
Bryce Eldridge, 1B, Sacramento (SF No. 1/MLB No. 17)
Five pitches into his first trip to the plate, Eldridge cranked a 408-foot home run on a 2-for-3 night with a walk and four RBIs. The long ball was the power-hitting lefty’s third roundtripper in his past five at-bats. Eldridge also left the yard in the first and eighth innings on Saturday. Despite extended time on the sidelines due to injury this season, the 20-year-old has racked up 17 homers this season, 10 of them at Triple-A. Gameday

JJ Wetherholt, SS, Memphis (STL No. 1/MLB No. 16)
The five-tool Wetherholt was having a big day by the fourth inning, but that's not unusual for St. Louis' top prospect. Wetherholt singled and scored in each of his first two at-bats and connected for a two-run homer in the fourth, his sixth in 16 games at Triple-A and 13th on the season. The 22-year-old hasn't been in Triple-A for a month yet, but he's already making the case for a late-season callup. Through 16 games with Memphis, Wetherholt has produced a cool .344 average and a 1.179 OPS. Gameday
Charlie Condon, 1B, Hartford (COL No. 1/MLB No. 19)
The slugging Condon is known more for his power than for his wheels, but he used them to leg out his first career triple at Double-A. Condon's two-out three-bagger -- which went in and out of the center fielder's glove -- turned what could've been an inning-ending out into a game-breaking three-run hit, the centerpiece of a three-hit performance for Colorado's top prospect. He finished play with 17 RBIs in 22 games at Hartford, though Condon is hitting only .228 with a .688 OPS at the level so far. Gameday
Dylan Beavers, OF, Norfolk (BAL No. 3)
The 33rd overall pick in the 2022 Draft, Beavers has taken a big step forward in his first full season at Triple-A, slashing his K rate by nearly 25 percent while pairing a career-high 16 homers with 22 stolen bases. He set that professional best with two more homers out of the leadoff spot as part of a three-hit effort to continue a scorching run for the talented outfielder. In his last 14 games, Beavers has six homers, an eye-popping 19 walks, 18 runs scored and 13 RBIs. Gameday
Mikey Romero, 2B, Worcester (BOS No. 7)
The recently promoted Romero enjoyed his first multihomer game of the season, cranking a pair of three-run taters to fuel Triple-A Worcester's rout. The six RBIs were a career high for Romero, Boston's first-round pick in 2022. He's hitting .251 with a .759 OPS, 10 homers and four steals combined on the year across two levels. Gameday
Victor Arias, OF, New Hampshire (TOR No. 10)
Promoted to Double-A two weeks ago, Arias launched his first two long balls at the level in his first multihomer game of the year. The 21-year-old socked a leadoff shot in the first and added a two-run blast in the fourth, then added a run-scoring groundout to finish with four RBIs on the day. After producing a .381 OBP prior to his promotion, Arias is poised to complete a career year with a strong finish. With seven homers and 17 stolen bases on the season, he's one away from matching his professional bests in both categories. Gameday
Gage Jump, LHP, Midland (ATH No. 2/MLB No. 63)
The A's have been limiting Jump, the No. 73 pick in the 2024 Draft, to outings of three innings or fewer over the past month or so as he's approached (and passed) his innings total from last year. He sure seemed fresh, breezing through three perfect innings, striking out two while throwing 27 of his 38 pitches for strikes. Jump hasn't allowed more than a run in his past six starts, and he sports a 1.78 ERA across with 67 strikeouts across 60 2/3 innings at Double-A overall in his first pro season. Gameday
Mick Abel, RHP, St. Paul (MIN No. 6/MLB No. 91)
Acquired in the deal for closer Jhoan Duran at the Trade Deadline, Abel impressed in his first start for his new club, whiffing seven across five innings of one-hit ball for Triple-A St. Paul. The right-hander walked two but didn't allow any runs in his organizational debut, throwing 44 of his 63 pitches for strikes. It was the kind of thing Abel had been doing consistently before the deal, as he posted a 2.31 ERA across his first 13 starts this season for Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Gameday
Jake Bennett, LHP, Harrisburg (WSH No. 7)
The 24-year-old southpaw had not allowed a hit when he was pulled after five innings and 73 pitches for Double-A Harrisburg. The Nationals' 2022 second-round pick struck out two and worked around three walks in logging the five hitless frames in what was easily the best of his three outings since being promoted to the Senators. Gameday
Fernando Perez, RHP, Vancouver (TOR No. 11)
Across six scoreless innings, Perez was almost perfect. A fifth-inning, two-out bloop single was the only blemish on his dominant start at High-A, where he struck out seven batters and generated 14 swings-and-misses. Perez, a 2024 All-Star Futures Game participant, lowered his ERA to 3.19 in 87 1/3 frames this season. Gameday
