Original song written and created exclusively for Washington Nationals by platinum-certified rock band out of Rockville, Md.
O.A.R. original song “Our Diamond, Our District,” specially written for and featured in the Washington Nationals’ District Blueprint City Connect launch video, is now available to stream on Amazon, Apple, Spotify and wherever else fans get their music.
The platinum-certified rock band founded in nearby Rockville, Md., led off the Nats Postgame Summer Concert Series on Friday, May 9, and performed the song live for the first time while sporting their own customized District Blueprint jerseys. Footage of the performance has been woven with team highlights and iconic sights from around Washington, D.C., to create an original music video produced by the Nationals’ Curly W Productions team, now available on YouTube.
“So many of the lyrics touch on friends and family and community,” said drummer Chris Culos in a pre-show interview. “And I think that goes hand-in-hand with baseball.”
The Nats Postgame Summer Concert Series continues in June with Natasha Bedingfield (Friday, June 6 vs. Texas) and Nelly (Friday, June 13 vs. Miami). Tickets and on-field passes are available at nats.com/Postgame.
About O.A.R.
O.A.R. might just be music’s biggest, best kept secret. The platinum-certified Rockville, Md., band has quietly sold out Madison Square Garden twice, filled Red Rocks Amphitheater a dozen times, earned platinum and gold plaques, lit up the Times Square New Year’s Eve celebration, and built one of the most committed fanbases in the world. The group — Marc Roberge [lead vocals, guitar], Richard On [lead guitar, backing vocals], Chris Culos [drums], Benj Gershman [bass], and Jerry DePizzo [saxophone, guitar, backing vocals] accompanied by Mikel Paris [keys, backing vocals, percussion], and Jon Lampley [trumpet, backing vocals] — have entered a new chapter as a band by releasing their 10th studio album “The Arcade” and recently concluded a very successful headlining tour with special guests Fitz and the Tantrums and Ripe.
