Braves-Nats rained out; rescheduled for split twin bill on Sept. 16

WASHINGTON -- With rain scheduled through the evening and into the morning Thursday, the Nationals announced that the second game of their series vs. the Braves on Wednesday night at Nationals Park was postponed.

The game will be made up as part of a split doubleheader on Sept. 16, with Game 1 (the rescheduled game) to begin at 1 p.m. ET and Game 2 (the originally scheduled game) remaining scheduled for 6:45 p.m. ET.

All tickets and parking passes from Wednesday night’s game will be honored for the rescheduled game (Game 1) at 1 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Sept. 16. A separate ticket will be required for access to Game 2 (the regularly scheduled game at 6:45 p.m.) on Sept. 16.

This is the second home postponement the Nationals have dealt with this season, after a rainout on May 5 in D.C. vs. the Guardians led to a doubleheader on May 6 that Washington ended up splitting.

This is the first game the Braves have had postponed this year.

With the game rescheduled for September, it shouldn’t impact either team’s pitching plan for Thursday’s series finale too much. , scheduled to start on Wednesday for the Nats, will be pushed back to start Thursday on an extra day of rest. The Braves chose the same course of action for , which in turn gives (Thursday’s scheduled starter) an extra day of rest as well.
