Married, wife's name is Alyssa...The couple has two children, Braxton and Sage...Grew up in Hempstead, Texas, approximately 50 miles northwest of downtown Houston...Until the 1940s, the town was the top shipper of watermelons in the United States and still holds an annual Watermelon Festival in July that draws over 5,000 people.

2024

Attended Major League Spring Training with Arizona and pitched in two Cactus League games...Optioned to Triple-A Reno on March 18 and appeared in two regular season games for the Aces before being designated for assignment on April 7...Claimed off waivers by the Milwaukee Brewers from the Diamondbacks on April 14 and was assigned to Triple-A Nashville...Recalled on May 3 by the Brewers but did not appear in a game before being optioned on May 4...Designated for assignment by the Brewers on May 10...Claimed off waivers by the Orioles from the Brewers on May 13 and was assigned to Triple-A Norfolk; spent the rest of the season with the Tides...Produced a 1-3 record with one save and a 4.78 ERA (23 ER/43.1 IP) on 52 hits (three HR), 34 walks (one IBB) and three hit batters with 41 strikeouts in 38 relief appearances between Reno, Nashville and Norfolk...Went 1-1 with a 7.17 ERA (17 ER/21.1 IP) on 28 hits (three HR), 24 walks and one hit batter with 18 strikeouts across 19 first-half games, compared to a 0-2 record with a 2.45 ERA (six ER/22.0 IP) on 24 hits, 10 walks (one IBB) and two hit batters with 23 strikeouts in 19 second-half games...Did not allow a run over his last nine games, from Aug. 22 through the end of the season...Completed 9.2 scoreless innings on six hits, five walks and one hit batter with nine strikeouts.

2023

Did not pitch in the regular season due to injury (right lat tendon avulsion). In five games in relief during Spring Training, owned a 3.18 ERA (two ER in 5.2 IP with nine strikeouts before being placed on the injured list on March 27.

2022

Went 0-1 with a 4.84 ERA (12 ER in 22.1 IP) in 7 games (two starts) over two stints in his second season with the D-backs....Allowed two earned runs or less in five of his seven games... In 17 starts for Triple-A Reno, went 6-7 with a 6.08 ERA (52 ER in 77.0 IP).

2021

Made five appearances (3 starts) in his first season with the D-backs, going 0-3 with a 10.69 ERA (19 ER in 16.0 IP)... Start on May 18 @ Dodgers was his first appearance in the Majors since June 3, 2019, @ Mariners (w/Astros)... Was 2-0 with a 5.93 ERA (18 ER in 27.1 IP) in 6 starts with Triple-A Reno... Did not pitch after June 29 due to a right elbow impingement... Entered the season ranked as the D-backs' No. 7 prospect by MLB.com and No. 10 prospect by Baseball America.

2020

Spent the entire season at the D-backs' Alternate Training Site...Placed on the 10-day injured list on July 22 (retro to July 20) while recovering from Tommy John surgery and transferred to the 60-day list on Sept. 25 due to strained left oblique.

2019

Was limited to 14 games (13 starts) between the Astros and Triple-A Round Rock due to Tommy John surgery on July 3...Went 1-1 with a 5.59 ERA (12 ER in 19.1 IP) in 5 starts in his first Major League season with Houston...Earned the win in his Major League debut on May 12 vs. Rangers (2 ER in 5.1 IP)…was the fi fth Astro to record 9+ strikeouts in his debut...Entered the season ranked as the Astros' No. 4 prospect by Baseball America and No. 5 by MLB.com.

2018

Had an All-Star campaign in what was his second professional season...combined to go 9-2 with a 2.51 ERA (34ER/122IP) in 25 games (21 starts) between Corpus Christi (21g) and Class A Buies Creek (4g)...began his season at Buies Creek, making four appearances before being promoted to Double A...shined with the Hooks, earning Midseason and Postseason Texas League All-Star honors...pitched 1.0 scoreless inning in the Texas League All-Star Game... made one postseason start, tossing 5.2 scoreless innings en route to earning the win.
