Full name is Scott Benjamin-Morton Effross...Switched to a side-arm pitching delivery in 2019...Went 15-8 with 12 saves and a 2.27 ERA in 81 appearances over three seasons at Indiana University (2013-15)...ranks among Indiana’s all-time leaders in appearances (81, fourth), saves (12, tied for sixth) and ERA (eighth)...was named a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American by the Collegiate Baseball newspaper...voted Second Team All-Big Ten by the conference’s coaches and placed on the All-Freshman team...Graduated from Twinsburg High School in Twinsburg, Ohio.

2024

Made three appearances for the Yankees over two stints with the club (9/1-4, 9/26-29), posting a 5.40 ERA (3.1IP, 3H, 2ER, 2BB, 2K, 1HR)...Began the 2024 season on the 60-day injured list recovering from low back surgery...commenced a rehab assignment with Single-A Tampa on 6/19…was transferred from Single-A Tampa to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on 6/26...was returned from rehab, reinstated from the 60-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on 7/14...Was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on 9/1...made his season debut later that day vs. St. Louis, allowing 2ER over 0.2IP (3H, 1HR)...marked his first Major League appearance since 10/3/22 at Texas...Made 27 relief appearances with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, going 7-1 with one save and a 2.78 ERA (32.1IP, 25H, 12R/10ER, 9BB, 28K, 2HR).

In 2021, Scott made his major league debut, making 14 relief appearances for the Cubs... Retired eight of 14 first batters faced and held the opposition scoreless in 10 of 14 games ... walked one and struck out 18 in 14.2 innings... Made his major league debut, Aug. 29 at the White Sox... picked up his first career victory with a scoreless inning of relief, Sept. 4 vs. the Pirates... Spent the majority of the year between Double-A Tennessee and Triple-A Iowa... was 7-2 with two saves and a 3.41 ERA (23 ER/60.2 IP) in 31 games (two starts) in the minors.

2020

Did not pitch in 2020 due to the global pandemic.

2019

Combined to pitch in 28 games in 2019 between Rookie League Mesa, Single-A Myrtle Beach and Double-A Tennessee...Walked 10 and struck out 33 in 52.0 innings, with a 1.19 WHIP...Was on the shelf, June 13-Aug. 5, with a left ankle sprain...Pitched in eight games for Mesa in the Arizona Fall League...posted a 1.80 ERA (2 ER/10.0 IP) with one walk and nine strikeouts.

2018

Spent all of 2018 with Double-A Tennessee, pitching in a then-career high 44 games...walked 20 and struck out 60 in 63.1 innings.

2017

Pitched a career-high 79.1 innings in 2017 with Single-A Myrtle Beach...recorded nine saves and a was 5-2 with 26 walks and 74 strikeouts.

2016

Split 2016 between Single-A South Bend and Single-A Myrtle Beach...walked 16 of 271 batters faced spanning 64.0 innings...recorded 59 strikeouts.

2015

Made his pro debut in 2015 with 12 relief appearances between Rookie League Mesa and Single-A Eugene.
