Injury: Right elbow strain
IL date: June 19 (15-day IL, retroactive to June 16)
Expected return: TBD
Status: Began experiencing elbow discomfort during his previous outing, on June 15. Was still awaiting MRI results as of a June 20 update. (updated June 20)
RHP Frankie Montas
Injury: High-grade right lat strain
IL date: March 27 (60-day IL, retroactive to March 24)
Expected return: Late June
Status: Allowed five earned runs for Triple-A Syracuse in his sixth and final rehab outing on June 18, giving him a 12.05 ERA in the Minors. Despite those results, will rejoin the rotation against the Braves on June 24. (updated June 20)
RHP Tylor Megill
Injury: Right elbow sprain
IL date: June 17 (15-day IL, retroactive to June 15)
Expected return: Mid- to late July
Status: Underwent an MRI that revealed no structural damage but significant inflammation around his tendons and ligaments. Will rest for 7-10 days and restart throwing once symptom-free. (updated June 17) More >>

Injury: Recovery from Tommy John surgery
IL date: April 29 (60-day IL)
Expected return: Mid-July
Status: Scheduled to begin a Minor League rehab assignment June 17 with Single-A St. Lucie. Mets officials expect it to potentially last the maximum 30 days. (updated June 16) More >>

Injury: Right hamstring strain

Expected return: TBD
Status: MRI on June 13 showed a Grade 1 hamstring strain (low grade). Will be shut down for two weeks then re-evaluated. Injured his hamstring covering first base in a June 12 game against the Nationals. (updated June 13) More >>

Injury: Fractured left tibia
IL date: April 17 (10-day IL)
Expected return: TBD
Status: Had a setback in his rehab after new imaging showed the bone hadn't healed as well as the Mets hoped. Was performing baseball activities, including batting practice, but Mets have paused those and will re-image his leg in late June. Will need a Minor League rehab assignment before activation. Injury: Right oblique strain

Expected return: July
Status: Is going through hitting progressions but is still multiple weeks away from a Minor League rehab assignment. Exited Mets' May 4 game against the Cardinals due to right side discomfort stemming from a throw back to the infield. (updated June 13)
RHP Drew Smith
Injury: Recovery from Tommy John surgery with internal brace
IL date: Feb. 13 (60-day IL)
Expected return: Late 2025 or 2026
Status: Injured his elbow in June 2024 and underwent surgery the following month. Subsequently signed a one-year deal with a 2026 team option to return to the Mets, who are overseeing his rehab in hopes of having him back in their bullpen as soon as late September or October. (updated May 26)

Injury: Left lat surgery

Expected return: 2026
Status: Underwent season-ending surgery May 12 in Chicago after tearing his lat muscle off the bone. Hopes to have a normal Spring Training in 2026. (updated May 17) More >>

Injury: Left elbow ligament sprain

Expected return: 2026
Status: Underwent an MRI on April 30 that revealed a sprain. Subsequently decided to undergo Tommy John surgery, which will cost him the rest of this season and part of 2026. (updated May 4) More >>
INF Nick Madrigal
Injury: Fractured left shoulder
IL date: Feb. 24 (60-day IL)
Expected return: 2026
Status: Dislocated and fractured his shoulder during a Feb. 23 Grapefruit League game and subsequently underwent season-ending surgery. Under team control through 2026, should the Mets decide to tender him a contract. (updated March 12) More >>

Injury: Sprained UCL in right elbow

Expected return: 2026
Status: Underwent a hybrid Tommy John surgery in September 2024 and will almost certainly miss all of 2025. Began throwing for the first time again on March 11. (updated March 12)
