MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers have named infielder Brock Wilken as Minor League Player of the Month and right-handed pitcher Jacob Misiorowski as Minor League Pitcher of the Month for May.
The Brewers also named infielder Juan Ortuño as Complex League Player of the Month and right-handed pitcher Jayden Dubanewicz as Complex League Pitcher of the Month.
Wilken, 22, posted a .938 OPS with 13 extra-base hits, 20 RBI and 20 walks in 27 games for Double-A Biloxi in May. He connected for 9 HR, the most in the Southern League in May, while his 20 RBI also led the league.
Ranked as Milwaukee’s No. 18 prospect per MLB Pipeline, Wilken became the first player in Shuckers history to tally 10 HR in his first 35 games on May 14. He was a part of a Shuckers offense that scored 128 runs and boasted a .730 OPS in May, both top marks in the Southern League.
Misiorowski, 23, went 2-2 with a 2.83 ERA (28.2ip, 9er) and 35 strikeouts across 6 starts for Triple-A Nashville in May. The right-hander’s 35 punchouts ranked third in the International League for the month.
The organization’s No. 4 prospect and the No. 71 overall prospect in baseball per MLB Pipeline, Misiorowski held opposing hitters to just a .212 batting average (22-for-104) during the month.
Ortuño, 18, batted .259/.463/.448 (15-for-58) with 2 doubles, 3 HR, 12 RBI, 19 runs and 3 stolen bases in 18 games for the Rookie ACL Brewers in May.
Signed as a non-drafted free agent out of Venezuela in January 2024, Ortuño ranked among Arizona Complex League leaders in walks (2nd, 17), runs (T2nd, 19), on-base percentage (4th, .463) and OPS (9th, .911) in the month.
Dubanewicz, 19, went 2-0 with a 3.50 ERA (18ip, 7er) and 20 strikeouts in 4 appearances (3 starts) for the Rookie ACL Brewers in May. He earned his first professional win May 19 at the ACL Royals after allowing just 1 run on 3 hits and 2 walks with 7 strikeouts over 5.0 innings.
Selected in the 16th round of the 2024 First-Year Player Draft out of Marjory Stoneman Douglas (FL) High School, Dubanewicz held opponents to a .225 batting average (16-for-71) in May.
