RHP Spencer Strider
Injury: Right hamstring strain
IL date: April 21 (Retroactive to April 18)
Expected return: Possibly second half of May
Status: Strider has been cleared to begin playing catch, but he hasn't thrown off a mound since straining his hamstring while playing catch on April 21. His injury occurred less than a week after he ended his one-year recovery from elbow surgery, so the Braves will continue to show caution with his recovery. (Last updated: May 2)
RF Ronald Acuña Jr.
Injury: Torn left ACL
IL date: March 25 (Retroactive to March 24)
Expected return: Late May
Status: Acuña is still trying to build strength in his quad muscles. The 2023 NL MVP hasn't reached a point where he's ready to begin a rehab assignment. Thoughts of him possibly returning in the first half of May seem unlikely. But he could rejoin the Braves' lineup near the end of the month. (Last updated: May 2)
RHP AJ Smith-Shawver
Injury: Right forearm contusion
Expected return: TBD
Status: Smith-Shawver’s right forearm was heavily wrapped on April 30 after he took a 105.3 mph line drive off it the night before at Colorado. He said there is no structural damage and his arm feels fine. (Last updated: April 30) More >>
INF Nacho Alvarez Jr.
Injury: Left wrist inflammation
IL date: March 25 (Retroactive to March 24)
Expected return: May
Status: Opened season on 10-day injured list, transferred to 60-day IL on April 23. Remained in Florida to rehab. (Last updated: April 23)
RHP Reynaldo López
Injury: Right shoulder inflammation
IL date: March 31 (Retroactive to March 29)
Expected return: TBD
Status: No structural damage found during arthroscopic surgery April 8. Shut down 12 weeks then further evaluated. The Braves think there's a chance he could pitch this season. (Last updated: April 8) More >>
RHP Joe Jiménez
Injury: Left knee surgery

Expected return: Will not return before August and could miss all of 2025
Status: Doctors found significant cartilage damage while evaluating the setup man’s knee in October. He was placed on the 15-day injured list on March 25 (backdated to March 24). (Last updated: March 25)
