Expected return: Potentially by end of season
Status: Homered from the right side on Sept. 18, which has been the more challenging side for the switch-hitting Santander. Manager John Schneider believes Santander will stay in Triple-A for the weekend of Sept. 19, but that is still being evaluated. (updated Sept. 18) More >>
RHP Nick Sandlin
Injury: Right elbow inflammation
IL date: July 8 (15-day IL)
Expected return: Potentially by end of season
Status: Continues to ramp back up but has not appeared in a big league game since July 7 and is running out of time to approach a brief rehab assignment. (updated Sept. 17)
RHP Robinson Piña
Injury: Right elbow UCL sprain
IL date: Sept. 2 (60-day IL)
Expected return: 2026
Status: Was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo and placed on the IL on Sept. 2. Made two relief appearances this season, one for the Marlins, allowing four runs (two earned) in 2 1/3 innings. (updated Sept. 2)

Injury: Right ulnar nerve symptoms

Expected return: 2026
