Injury: Right shoulder impingement

Expected return: Late August
Status: Exited Aug. 2 game with shoulder discomfort. Further evaluation showed tendinitis, and Cruz received an injection Aug. 4. Could be playing catch again by week of Aug. 11 (updated: Aug. 4)
RHP Michael Lorenzen
Injury: Left oblique strain
IL date: July 14, retroactive to July 11 (15-day IL)
Expected return: August
Status: Expected to make first rehab start on Aug. 5 with Double-A Northwest Arkansas. Will go five innings or throw around 70 pitches, according to manager Matt Quatraro. (updated: Aug. 4)
2B Michael Massey
Injury: Left ankle sprain, right wrist injury, back tightness
IL date: June 10, retroactive to June 8 (10-day IL)

Injury: Left rotator cuff strain

Expected return: Late August

Injury: Left rotator cuff strain

Expected return: 2026

Injury: Left elbow epicondylitis

Expected return: August
Status: Received injection July 8 to help elbow soreness. Began throwing after All-Star break and hit for the first time on July 28. (updated: July 28)

Injury: Right elbow surgery
IL date: March 24; transferred to 60-day IL on May 1
Expected return: TBD
Status: Suffered setback in July when he underwent another procedure to remove the second screw that was put in during offseason elbow surgery. Both screws that were put in to help fix an olecranon fracture have been removed. Still undergoing tests to determine next steps. (updated: July 18)
