RED SOX PLACE RIGHT-HANDED PITCHER HUNTER DOBBINS ON 15-DAY INJURED LIST
BOSTON, MA—The Boston Red Sox today placed right-handed pitcher Hunter Dobbins on the 15-Day Injured List with a right ACL tear. To fill his spot, Boston recalled right-handed pitcher Richard Fitts from Triple-A Worcester.
Dobbins, 25, has pitched in 13 games (11 starts) for Boston this season, his Major League debut. The right-hander has gone 4-1 with a 4.13 ERA (28 ER/61.0 IP). Selected by the Red Sox in the eighth round of the 2021 First-Year Player Draft, the Texas native has also recorded a 5.09 ERA (10 ER/17.2 IP) in four games (two starts) for Worcester.
Fitts, 25, owns a 4.28 ERA (16 ER/33.2 IP) in eight starts for Boston this season. The right-hander has also recorded a 5.25 ERA (7 ER/12.0 IP) in three starts for Worcester. Originally selected by the New York Yankees in the sixth round of the 2021 First-Year Player Draft, the Alabama native owns a 3.31 ERA (20 ER/54.1 IP) with 37 strikeouts in 12 career Major League games, all starts for the Red Sox (2024-25).
