White Sox place Fraser Ellard on 15-day injured list; recall Brandon Eisert from Triple-A Charlotte

CHICAGO – Prior to tonight’s series opener vs. Boston, the Chicago White Sox placed left-handed pitcher Fraser Ellard on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to April 10) with a strained right hamstring and recalled left-hander Brandon Eisert from Class AAA Charlotte.

Ellard, 27, is 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA (3 ER/5.0 IP) and six strikeouts in five games this season, his second with the White Sox.

Eisert, 27, made the Sox Opening Day roster before being optioned to Charlotte on April 7.
