Texas Rangers Homestand Information for September 5-10, 2025
Arlington, Texas — The Texas Rangers (72-69) are set to face their in-state rivals, the Houston Astros (September 5-7), and the National League-leading Milwaukee Brewers (September 8-10) during a six-game homestand at Globe Life Field beginning tomorrow night.
The Rangers have gone 4-3 in seven games against the Astros this season, needing to win at least three of the teams’ final six scheduled meetings in 2025 to claim a victory in the Lone Star Series for the first time since 2016 (Texas went 15-4 vs. Houston).
The Rangers-Astros contest on Saturday, September 6 will be televised nationally on FOX and is slated to begin at 6:15 p.m. CT. Former Texas pitcher (2015-18) and four-time Major League All-Star selection Cole Hamels will be on hand Saturday to sign autographs for fans at the New Era Alumni Alley located in the Northwest corner of the ballpark behind Section 103 beginning at 4:30 p.m. (will sign for first 225 fans).
On Sunday, September 7, fans will be encouraged to join Rangers players and staff during a special in-game ceremony to support Stand Up To Cancer ® (SU2C), a groundbreaking initiative created to accelerate innovative cancer research that brings new therapies to patients quickly. Additionally, proceeds from Sunday’s Texas 2 Split 50/50 Raffle presented by Shift4 will benefit Stand Up To Cancer.
Since its inception, SU2C research has contributed to the development of nine Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approvals for new cancer therapies. Major League Baseball and its 30 Clubs have donated more than $50 million to SU2C since the collaboration began in 2009.
Sunday’s series finale against Houston will also feature a ceremonial first pitch thrown by YouTube creator, Austin Kleschka, who fans may also know as ‘Spidey’ from the popular YouTube channel, dodgerfilms.
Next week’s three-game set against the Brewers will be highlighted by Mariachi Monday presented by T-Mobile, a Joc Pederson Replica Jersey giveaway presented by Medical City Healthcare on Tuesday, and Texas Chili Company Dollar Hot Dog Day on Wednesday.
I-30 CLOSURE UPDATE: The Rangers would like to alert fans to a scheduled road closure which will likely impact those attending the club's weekend series at Globe Life Field against the Houston Astros. TxDOT is scheduled to close I-30 westbound in Arlington between Fielder Rd. and Eastchase Parkway from 9:00pm Friday through 6:00am Monday for bridge repair work. Please note that I-30 eastbound will remain open, but the closure of westbound lanes will impact traffic for many routes into Globe Life Field. Bob Feller Act of Valor Award: Prior to Friday’s game, Rangers pitcher Jon Gray will be recognized for receiving a nomination for the 2025 Bob Feller Act of Valor Award, an honor awarded annually to a current Major League Baseball player for their support of United States military servicemen and women. Gray was selected as the winner of the award in 2023 after he and his wife, Jacklyn, hosted military families at Globe Life Field throughout the season as part of the #MissionGrayWolf22 program.
Theme Night: OpTic Night – Fans who purchase a theme night ticket to Friday night’s game through Rangers.com/ThemeNights will receive a custom, co-branded Rangers/OpTic jersey. Players’ Favorite Baskets: Fans can view and bid on the “Players' Favorite Baskets,” a special silent auction hosted by the wives of Texas Rangers players. These baskets, filled with autographed items and a selection of the players' favorite things, will be displayed in front of the Grand Slam Team Store when the gates open. Online bidding is open now at Rangers.com/PlayerBaskets and will close at the top of the 4th inning. Winners can pick up their baskets in person until the top of the 7th inning or during designated hours at Globe Life Field. Proceeds from the event will benefit The Birthday Party Project, an organization which provides birthday celebrations to underprivileged youth.

Globe Life Grant Presentation: Prior to Saturday night’s game, the Texas Rangers and the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation will recognize this year’s Globe Life Grant recipients. This summer, the initiative awarded 13 nonprofit organizations across Texas and Oklahoma with a total of $100,000 in funds to help grow youth baseball and softball in their respective communities through construction projects, field renovations, scoreboard upgrades, equipment and uniform purchases, and more.

MLB Childhood Cancer Awareness Day: As part of Major League Baseball’s Childhood Cancer Awareness campaign, recognized league-wide on Sunday, September 7, all on-field personnel, including players, managers, and coaches, will wear gold ribbon decals and wristbands. The Rangers and the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation, in coordination with American Airlines, will also host a pre-game ceremony prior to Sunday’s game to recognize children’s cancer patients, survivors, and their caregivers.

Chevron Grant Presentation: Prior to Wednesday’s game, the Texas Rangers and the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation will recognize the recipients of the 2025 Chevron Grants, which support non-profit organizations, schools, or municipalities that provide meaningful support to children ages 18 and under through programming in areas such as educational curriculum, afterschool programming, or youth sports. Total grant funding for this year’s program was $50,000 and will be distributed to the following organizations from the Permian Basin/West Texas area of Texas: City of Midland Aquatics Inc., Crime Stoppers of Midland, Inc., Ellen Noel Art Museum of the Permian Basin, Harmony Home Children’s Advocacy Center, Inc., and Round Up, Inc.
