Dodgers Activate Kiké Hernández
DODGERS ACTIVATE KIKÉ HERNÁNDEZ
LOS ANGELE**S –** The Los Angeles Dodgers have activated infielder/outfielder Kiké Hernández and designated infielder Buddy Kennedy for assignment.
Hernández, 34, has been out since July 6 with left elbow inflammation. He made five rehab appearances with Triple-A Oklahoma City, batting .357 with two doubles and three RBI. He has played in 72 games this season, hitting .195 with eight homers and 22 RBI. He has played nine seasons in Dodger blue (2015-20, 23-), posting an 11.2 bWAR with 93 homers and 307 RBI in 899 games while playing eight different positions on the field. Hernández has been in the Majors 12 seasons with the Houston Astros (2014), Miami Marlins (2014), Dodgers and the Boston Red Sox (2021-23), slashing .236/.306/.403 with 128 homers and 457 RBI. He was originally drafted by the Houston Astros in the sixth round of the 2009 First Year Player Draft out of the American Military Academy in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico.
Kennedy, 26, played in seven games for the Dodgers, recording one hit in 17 at-bats. He has been in the Major Leagues parts of four seasons with Arizona (2022-23), Detroit (2024), Philadelphia (2024-25), Toronto (2025) and Los Angeles (2025), batting .178 with two homers and 20 RBI. In 681 minor league games, he has amassed 66 homers and 345 RBI. He was drafted by the Diamondbacks in 2017 in the fifth round from Millville High School (NJ).
