Jump's successful rookie campaign added an impressive postseason debut for Double-A Midland. The LSU product who was the 73rd overall pick in the last Draft struck out eight over 5 2/3 scoreless innings during his 96-pitch outing. It was a bounceback performance for Gage, who surrendered 21 runs over his final four regular-season starts for the RockHounds. Brody Hopkins, RHP, Montgomery (TB No. 3)

The 23-year-old wriggled out of a bases-loaded, no-out jam in the second inning by striking out the side and wasn't threatened after that. Hopkins, who fanned seven over five scoreless frames and has surrendered one run in two career postseason starts, sports a 1.22 ERA in 10 starts since the beginning of July. Gameday

Valdez teamed up with Griffin to form a potent 1-2 punch for Double-A Altoona in the club's semifinal opener. The performance put an end to a 2-for-16 slide for Valdez to cap the best season of his pro career.
