Samuel Basallo kicked off the weekend in style in a game full of achievements. The slugging backstop reached the 20-homer plateau for a second time, collected a career-high five hits and fell a triple shy of the cycle. Basallo wasn't alone, as fellow Top 100 prospects Bryce Eldridge, Alex Freeland and Rainiel Rodriguez all went deep as did Tyson Lewis, who slugged a monster home run for his first Single-A jack in his Florida State League debut.
Samuel Basallo, C/1B, Norfolk (BAL No. 1/MLB No. 9)
Baseball's top-ranked catcher lived up to his billing offensively with arguably the best performance of his pro career. Basallo homered and doubled twice during a career-high five-hit night for Triple-A Norfolk. The 20-year-old equaled his personal best of 20 long balls, established in 2023 when he appeared in 114 games across three Minor League levels. Basallo is tied for the lead among all Minor League backstops in roundtrippers and is slashing .282/.395/.624 across 63 contests. Gameday

Bryce Eldridge, 1B, Sacramento (SF No. 1/MLB No. 17)
Eldridge is still feeling his way through as he gets acclimated to Triple-A, but the 6-foot-7 slugger is making his hits count. The Giants' 2023 first-rounder blasted a three-run jack, his sixth roundtripper in 23 games for Sacramento and third in his past four contests. The 20-year-old added a single and has driven in seven runs in as many games since returning from the IL. Gameday

Alex Freeland, SS/3B, Oklahoma City (LAD No. 3/MLB No. 36)
Freeland didn't match his six-RBI outburst from a day earlier, but the 23-year-old did leave the yard for a second consecutive game. Prior to his previous contest, Freeland had not gone deep since homering in back-to-back contests on June 17-18. Although the 2022 third-rounder has had an uneven month at the plate, he has driven in 14 runs to push his total for the season to 71, third among all Dodgers Minor Leaguers. Gameday

Drew Gilbert, OF, Syracuse (NYM No. 12)
Gilbert's stretch of hot hitting continued with his third multihomer game in less than a month. The University of Tennessee product added a double and equaled a season high with four RBIs, boosting his total to 52, seven shy of his personal best of 59 established in 2023. Gilbert is in the midst of his best month of 2025, slashing .338/.403/.723 with six homers and 17 RBIs in 17 games, which has lifted his Triple-A OPS to .796. Gameday

Tyson Lewis, SS, Daytona (CIN No. 7)
Lewis got his Florida State League tenure off to a roaring start, launching a 437-foot homer in his second at-bat for Single-A Daytona. The 19-year-old added a double, scored three times and drove in a pair of runs. The performance continued a sizzling debut campaign for Lewis, who slashed .340/.396/.532 with 19 extra-base hits, 44 runs scored and 35 RBIs in 46 games for Cincinnati's Rookie-level Arizona Complex League team. Rainiel Rodriguez, C, Palm Beach (STL No. 4/MLB No. 89)
Rodriguez got off to a slow start after his promotion to Single-A Palm Beach, but the 18-year-old is beginning to find his footing. Rodriguez homered for a second consecutive game and for the third time in seven contests, giving him 12 across two levels. The Dominican Republic native has hit safely in nine of his past 11 games, slashing .297/.426/.757 with eight extra-base hits and seven RBIs in that span. Gameday

Lucas Braun, RHP, Columbus (ATL No. 9)
Braun turned in his fourth strong outing in five starts this month, striking out eight and surrendering one run over six innings. The Cal State Northridge product allowed just two hits and two walks, tossing 92 pitches (59 strikes) and retired 10 of 11 to close out his performance. Outside of a hiccup in his previous outing where he surrendered five runs in 3 2/3 innings, Braun has been stingy in July. The 23-year-old has yielded two runs across his other four appearances spanning 19 1/3 frames. Gameday
