Injury: Right pinkie finger
Expected return: TBD
Status: Left the game June 15 after reporting feeling something in the finger on his final pitch, a wild pitch to the backstop. Will undergo a battery of tests, according to manager A.J. Hinch. (Updated June 15)
OF/3B Matt Vierling
Injury: Right shoulder inflammation
IL date: May 27 (10-day IL)
Expected return: June
Status: Went 1-for-4 at DH in his second game of a rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo on June 15. Will return to Detroit for more throwing work before Tigers decide the next step of his rehab assignment, with the Mud Hens on the road this week. (Updated June 15)
RHP Reese Olson
Injury: Right ring finger inflammation
IL date: May 19 (15-day IL, retroactive to May 18)
Expected return: Late June
Status: Allowed two runs on two hits with four strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings during a rehab start for Triple-A Toledo on June 14. Needs to build up arm endurance again before he returns. (Updated June 15) More >>
RHP Alex Cobb
Injury: Right hip inflammation
IL date: March 27 (15-day IL, transferred to 60-day IL on May 30)
Expected return: End of June
Status: Received an injection in his left hip -- which was surgically repaired in 2023 -- to address inflammation, which will delay his next rehab start for Triple-A Toledo. Threw two innings on June 11 in a rehab start for Triple-A Toledo. Expected to use the full 30-day rehab assignment before Tigers decide his role. (Updated June 14)
RHP Jackson Jobe
Injury: Right flexor strain
IL date: May 29 (15-day IL)
Expected return: Possibly 2026
Status: Scheduled to undergo Tommy John surgery early the week of June 16 after consultation with doctors and will miss at least the rest of this season. Dr. Keith Meister will perform the surgery. (Updated June 13) More >>

Expected return: Possibly late 2025
Status: Underwent Tommy John surgery in June 2024. Completed his latest bullpen session on June 13. (Updated June 13)

Injury: Dislocated right shoulder
Expected return: 2026
Status: Will undergo season-ending surgery after dislocating his shoulder diving back to first base in a June 3 game for Single-A Lakeland. Expected to be a full participant in Spring Training next year. (Updated June 6)
RHP Jason Foley
Injury: Recovery from right shoulder surgery
IL date: June 2 (60-day IL)
Expected return: 2026
Status: Underwent season-ending shoulder surgery in May after being sidelined at Triple-A Toledo. Called up by Tigers and placed on 60-day injured list on June 2 to open a 40-man roster spot. (Updated June 6)

Injury: Right rotator cuff strain
