How many bare-chested friends does it take to spell Pete Crow-Armstrong?

A large contingent of young fans in the Wrigley Field bleachers had something to get off their chests on Thursday night, and it was all about supporting Pete Crow-Armstrong.

The newest PCA fanclub has at least 19 members, because that's the amount of letters (plus one space and one hyphen) it takes to spell out his name. Which is exactly what this group of friends from Glenbrook North did on their chests.

In an interview with Taylor McGregor on the broadcast, they revealed that they were mostly fighting over who would get to be the hyphen (their English teachers must be proud), and ultimately the fastest member of the group was chosen. That was a tribute to Crow-Armstrong's eye-popping speed, of course.

It was hard for Crow-Armstrong not to notice the bare-chested bunch out there spelling out his name, and he did reward them with a ball when he first came out to the field. While the interview was happening during the third inning, Crow-Armstrong even got an opportunity to make a play on a lazy fly ball.

Though it wasn't one of his signature diving plays that he makes look like a can of corn, it still elicited chants of "Pete! Pete! Pete!" from the group, and Crow-Armstrong responded with a wave.

Over in San Francisco, Jung Hoo Lee has the Hoo Lee Gans. Maybe these 19 friends just invented the Crow's Nest?
