Will Skenes go from mowing down hitters to mowing lawns?

Paul Skenes wields a dominant seven-pitch arsenal, but he’s even more versatile than we originally thought.

Before taking the mound on Tuesday night against the Cardinals, Skenes spent roughly 20 minutes with the Pirates’ grounds crew at PNC Park, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Later, the 23-year-old phenom told the Post-Gazette that he would “love to cut grass professionally” when his baseball career is over.

Thankfully, Skenes isn’t close to retirement. But the idea of the 6-foot-6 flamethrower joining the grounds crew is undoubtedly a fun one.

Skenes proceeded to blank the Cardinals across five scoreless innings on Tuesday, lowering his ERA to 2.03 and steering the red-hot Pirates to another win.
