Were you watching the All-Star Game on Tuesday night?
There's a pretty good chance you were, because according to Nielsen, a combined 7.2 million viewers tuned in to the Midsummer Classic in Atlanta, airing on FOX and FOX Sports streaming services, with viewership peaking at 8.1 million.
That followed Monday's T-Mobile Home Run Derby, which, per ESPN, averaged 5.7 million viewers and peaked at 6.3 million, a 5% increase from 2024. In terms of television ratings, it is the most popular All-Star event in professional sports
Even compared to previous games, the 95th Midsummer Classic had a lot to offer, from a tribute to Clayton Kershaw, who recently tallied his 3,000th career strikeout, to a thrilling comeback from the AL squad which forced the first use of a tiebreaking swing-off won by Kyle Schwarber and the NL, 7-6.
