The Single-A level of Minor League Baseball is often the first extended stage where fans and evaluators get a real look at prospects away from complex leagues. On Tuesday, Minor League Baseball announced its 2025 Single-A end-of-season All-Stars and award winners, highlighted by standout performers across the California, Carolina and Florida State Leagues.
Among this year’s headliners were three young standouts who left their mark across the Single-A landscape. Dodgers outfielder Eduardo Quintero powered his way to California League MVP honors with a blend of pop and speed. In the Carolina League, White Sox infielder Caleb Bonemer showed off a well-rounded offensive profile en route to his circuit’s top award. And in the Florida State League, Reds catcher Alfredo Duno emerged as a force at and behind the plate. Each shined in 2025, underscoring the level’s role as a launching pad for the game’s next wave of talent.
Here is a breakdown of the hardware awarded across Single-A:
California League
Most Valuable Player & Top MLB Prospect: Eduardo Quintero, Rancho Cucamonga (LAD)
The 20-year-old outfielder signed out of Venezuela in 2023 had a campaign to remember. Prior to his eventual call-up to High-A Great Lakes, Quintero slashed .306/.426/.533 with a .959 OPS over 81 games. The right-handed hitter popped 14 homers as part of his 38 extra-base hits. Quintero is one of the most well-rounded prospects Los Angeles has to offer, adding 35 stolen bases during his Single-A stint to showcase a true power-speed combo.
Pitcher of the Year: Jacob Bresnahan, San Jose (SF)
The 6-foot-4 southpaw turned things around in 2025. After being acquired in the Alex Cobb trade from Cleveland at last year’s Deadline, Bresnahan struggled in his first seven starts with San Jose, posting an ERA north of seven. This year was a completely different story. Bresnahan posted the second-lowest ERA (2.61) in the league (min. 20 games started), notched a league-leading nine wins and finished third in strikeouts (124). He was exceptionally tough against both lefties and righties, with each side managing just a .569 OPS against him.

He led the league with a .400 OBP, .458 slugging percentage and .858 OPS across 117 games, flashing both patience and pop. The 19-year-old impressed against pro pitching, collected 58 RBIs and 27 steals, and earned a promotion to High-A Winston-Salem late in the year.
Pitcher of the Year: David Shields, Columbia (KC)
The 19-year-old southpaw was brilliant for the Fireflies from start to finish. In 18 games, Shields compiled a 2.01 ERA over 72 1/3 innings, striking out 81 and walking just 16. He limited opposing hitters to a .218 average and gave up only three home runs. The Pittsburgh native capped his season on a high note, striking out eight over five strong innings in Columbia’s semifinal opener.
Top MLB Prospect: Jesús Made, Carolina (MIL)
One of the most electrifying players in the Minors, Made made his presence known across multiple levels. At Single-A Carolina, he posted a .267/.373/.388 slash line with 40 stolen bases, showcasing his elite athleticism. Promoted to High-A Wisconsin, the 19-year-old raised his production even further, hitting .343 with a .915 OPS over 27 games. A 2024 13th-round pick from Chipola Junior College, Elissalt impressed immediately in his first pro season.
