The Seattle Mariners were among the more aggressive buyers during the 2025 MLB Trade Deadline, acquiring first baseman Josh Naylor and third baseman Eugenio Suárez to shore up both corners of the infield and lengthen their lineup.
Seattle has its sights set on contending in the American League, and the latest betting odds at the BetMGM online sportsbook support that approach.
In the past two weeks, the Mariners have gone from +3000 to +1600 to win the World Series. They now have an implied probability of 5.88% to win their first World Series in franchise history.
“The Mariners have certainly made the biggest offensive moves, leading to the biggest changes in our World Series odds,” said Halvor Egeland, who is BetMGM’s Trading Strategy Manager. “Over the past week, the Mariners are our fifth-most bet team to win the World Series in terms of total bets.”
As for the AL pennant market, Seattle has the fifth-best odds at +700 (12.5% implied probability) after being +1400 in mid-July.
The Mariners are also +220 to win the American League West division, which translates to an implied probability of 31.25%. They were +550 in this market just two weeks ago.
For comparison, here is a look at FanGraphs’ odds for the Mariners as of July 31:
- World Series: 7.2%
- AL pennant: 15%
- AL West: 28.1%
However, trades weren’t the only reason for Mariners-related movement in the betting market this week.

Catcher Cal Raleigh briefly claimed the lead as AL MVP favorite following an injury to New York Yankees star Aaron Judge. Raleigh, who opened as a 100/1 long shot in the preseason, became a minus-odds favorite on Monday.
Judge is back to leading the latest MLB MVP odds, trading at -190 with the expectation that he will return to the lineup in early August. Raleigh remains his primary challenger at +150, giving him an implied probability of 40%.
As of late July, Raleigh has received 28.6% of the handle and 12.5% of bets in the AL MVP market at BetMGM. Judge has garnered 23.9% of the handle and 6.7% of bets.
