Since joining the Mets in 2021, Francisco Lindor has turned into the face of the franchise. Prior to Tuesday’s 8-3 win against the Padres, however, Francisco watched his wife, Katia, steal the show.

In front of a packed house at Citi Field, Katia Lindor played the national anthem on the violin, with Francisco and their three kids all nearby watching in admiration. It was a beautiful moment for a family that has been front and center for the Mets in more ways than one -- Francisco is the Mets’ 2025 Roberto Clemente Award nominee and the two of them will soon start the Lindor Foundation.

And if there was any doubt, Lindor homered in his second plate appearance of the night against San Diego’s Michael King, helping the Mets get off to a commanding 7-1 lead through the first two innings. It was a pivotal win for a Mets club that is holding a slim 1 1/2-game lead over the D-backs for the final NL Wild Card spot.
