ATLANTA -- Of the 23,508 players to appear in a Major League Baseball game, only 0.3 percent managed to record 1,000 hits before their 27th birthday.

Juan Soto is in that 0.3 percent.

Soto laced the 1,000th hit of his career off Atlanta's Spencer Strider in Thursday's 7-1 loss, making him one of 84 players to hit that marker at age 26 or younger. He is also one of 17 players to record 1,000 hits and 200 homers before his 27th birthday. He’s the only player in that age bracket to record 1,000 hits, 200 homers and 800 walks.

Of the 84 players to record at least 1,000 hits before their 27th birthday, 17 went on to reach 3,000 (and another five are still active).

The first 569 of Soto's hits came with the Nationals. He hit 199 for the Padres and 166 more for the Yankees, and he now has 66 in the first season of a 15-year, $765 million contract with the Mets.
